Stay Away!

I don't typically post about companies whether they do a good job or bad; but I felt people should be aware of Ameristar. They came to my home and told me that my neighbors were getting their roofs paid for because they had hail damage. I allowed them to inspect my roof. The guy who inspected told me that I had hail damage all over my wooden shingles and that I should file an insurance claim. I took his word and filed a claim. My insurance company sent out an inspector who did a full inspection of my property. He looked at my roof and informed me that the damage on my roof was not created by hail. He stated that he could not make any accusations but that it definitely was not hail. He suggested that I get a 2nd opinion. I assumed that he simply didn't want to pay for my claim and did as he reccommended. I called out two other roofing companies. I was shocked when both companies looked at my roof and informed me that there was no hail damage but that it looked like someone had manufactured damage on my roof. I explained to both roofers that the guy from Ameristar was the only person that I knew of who had been on my roof in years. Both companies told me that Ameristar was well know for their questionable practices. Now I don't know what to do. I'm told I have damage to my roof, but that it wasn't made by a hail storm. I don't want to falsely accuse anyone, but something about this company stinks.

Professional Job

The guys at Ameristar Roofing were great. They came out and provided a thorough written estimate that was competitive with the others we received. We took digital photos of the material as it was delivered to our house, and it matched exactly what was on the estimate. The job was completed in a timely manner, and they even did a good job of cleaning up the yard after themselves. My neighbors used them too, and we all were completely satisfied with the work.

Something is Fishy!

Called and requested that Ameristar come to my house to inspect my roof for damage. "Joe" came and assessed the roof to be worth a complete replacement but wanted to be there before the insurance adjuster come so that he can be there. Joe passed us off to someone else at Ameristar who was supposed to come and show up on the date I booked the adjuster to come out. Well that person forgot the appointment date and time but then said that he came by that morning (I was home and didn't see anyone come) to inspect the roof and said that the roof looked just fine and it would be hard to get the insurance to replace it. ??????? This guy was tap dancing big time. How can two people from the same company look at it completely differently??? Worse yet, the second guy was blaming the other guy's inexperience and overzealousness to assess so much damage. This just validated many of the concerns I heard from neighbors about their practices. I recommend you pay a bit more and get a quality job from a company who won't disappear on you when things go wrong...did you check out their website? Under construction again! Reeks of "fly by night".
